Metro’s May Heroes United Hockey

Metro Heroes Hockey - May in Las Vegas

Our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team in Las Vegas spent one of the last outdoor street hockey activities at Liberty Baptist (on Lake Mead & Torrey Pines) before the heat of summer forces them to move indoors. Members from Metro’s Heroes United Hockey, led by Lieutenant Philip Merges (in the green jersey), coach our inner-city children to play hockey.

Heroes United has been concentrating on serving in two neighborhoods (Twain & Swenson, and Lake Mead & Torrey Pines). It is their goal to expand into other underserved neighborhoods to improve the quality of life for all who live there.

9th Annual Charity Golf Classic Recap

Beautiful weather and generous hearts helped make our 9th Annual Charity Golf Classic on Friday, April 29th at McCormick Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale a beaming success.

And thanks to the generosity of our valued event sponsors, community partners, and individuals, we were able to raise $569,217! 100% of these proceeds will be given back to benefit Arizona charitable groups and organizations!

  • 2020 = over $461K
  • 2019 = $420K

Sweet Treats Ice Cream and Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers food trucks were also onsite keeping golfers and volunteers hydrated and energized. Golfers also had the opportunity to sip on other libations while out on the greens and purchase raffle tickets for prizes.

“Each Lerner and Rowe Gives Back charity golf classic offers something new and exciting for sponsors and participants, as well as the amount we are able to pay forward to positively impact local communities. And since next year marks the tenth anniversary of our annual fundraiser, our plans for 2023 are going to be over the top insane! That includes sponsorship opportunities, golfer incentives and prizes, and the fundraising goal.” shared Kevin Rowe.

Out of the Darkness Walk Las Vegas

Our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team in Las Vegas joined hundreds of walkers at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s “Out of the Darkness” walk at Sunset Park on April 9, 2022. Together, we honored the memory of those whose lives were lost and offered support to others who’s live have been greatly affected by suicide.

“Suicide is one of the leading causes of preventable death. By helping to increase awareness of mental health conditions and provide resources to prevent suicide, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention offers much needed hope and support within our communities. As such, our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team was honored to be able join others at the Out of the Darkness walk in Las Vegas to help the foundation bring attention to all that it does.” –Glen Lerner.
