2022 marks the 41st year that Make-A-Wish® Arizona has been making waves to positively transform lives and grant wishes of every eligible critically ill child across the state. 

A donation from you—just like our continuous support—helps make it possible for the organization to increase awareness about their programs and fulfill hundreds of wishes this year.

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness (TDVA) Month. As such, our team spent some time last week at several schools with the Chicago Police Departments CAPS program to participate in Teen Dating Violence Awareness presentations.

Our Lerner and Rowe team attended the monthly Giving Project on February 12, 2022. During the community outreach event, we helped barbecue hot dogs for 250 hungry guests. 

The Giving Project occurs every second Saturday and was launched by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to ensure that our local homeless population receives regular access to social services, as well as personal care items such as glasses, clothing, blankets, and more.

One of the first Giving Projects our team had the pleasure to take part in was back in March 2019. Since then, we look forward to attending these events that allow us to bring smiles and hope to those who may need a helping hand

Lerner & Rowe Gives Back Donates $5K to Help Search for Missing Youth

Our Las Vegas outreach team joins F.R.E.E. International, KlassKIDS, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and other organizations and volunteers for Nevada Child Seekers’ annual The BIG Search in Las Vegas. As with previous years, The BIG Search 2022 in Las Vegas occurs over SuperBowl weekend. 

We are honored for the opportunity to participate in The BIG Search and offer a $5,000 gift that will be used to cover the costs of the three-day search and rescue event.

What Is The BIG Search?

The BIG Search is just that–a major search effort spread across the Las Vegas Valley as a means to help locate Nevada Child Seekers’ “Top 30” missing local youth. During the search, volunteers hit the streets in a grassroots effort to distribute booklets and baseball cards to locals and tourists that feature photos and other identifiable details of the missing youth. 

These distribution efforts have proven to be optimal in helping to locate and assist missing and exploited youth in the Las Vegas area–not only those on the “Top 30” list. The information also helps to increase awareness of the local programs and organizations available to assist youth that may be in danger of exploitation and sex trafficking.   

Statistics of Missing Youth in Southern Nevada 

According to statistics provided by Nevada’s Missing Children Clearinghouse, over 8,000 children are reported missing each year in Nevada. Approximately 200 are considered endangered or abducted.

Our Las Vegas team is pleased to give back in support of Raise the Future’s 2022 Project Valentine with a $2,500 gift. Our donation will be used to help send out 350+ handwritten valentines to youth in foster care.

Each valentine will also include a $5.00 gift card to a local food establishment.

The Story Behind Project Valentine

Project Valentine started in 2021 as a means to help combat an increase of pain and isolation felt by youth in foster care during COVID-19 lockdowns. This project shows one of Nevada’s most vulnerable populations that someone does care and is thinking of them this Valentine’s Day by sending them a message of love and hope.

Our Las Vegas Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team kicked off the NHL All-Star Weekend with three community partners: Heroes United Hockey, Vegas Golden Knights, and the NHL Players Association.

We began the weekend by transporting over 30 inner city youth to the City National Arena. Once the kids arrived at the arena that were excited to spend some ice time learning hockey tips from members of the Vegas Golden Knights and NHL Players Association. Afterwards the kids were treated to a pizza party.

Giving Back to Phoenix Children’s Since 2010

Our history with Phoenix Children’s began in 2010 with a $1,000 gift for their Leadership Circle. Just 12 years later Lerner and Rowe Gives Back reached the $100,000 Lifetime Giving amount with a $10,000 sponsorship of Phoenix Children’s 2022 Beach Ball. 

Our team looks forward to decades more of giving back to Phoenix Children’s, especially knowing that the hospital’s programs and services are funded solely or significantly through philanthropy.

In addition to an afternoon of golf and giving, Lerner and Rowe Gives Back’s 9th Annual 2022 Charity Golf Classic will feature tons of swag items for each golfer, libations, and food.

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back is pleased to be a fifth-year sponsor of the Tucson Heart & Stroke Ball that directly supports the American Heart Association’s fight against heart disease and stroke. Funds raised will be used to support their health and education initiatives in Tucson that advocate for healthy policies and improved hospital quality of care, identify and remove barriers to healthcare access, fund medical research, and promote advanced cardiovascular healthy behaviors that help every heart.

Our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team in Las Vegas honored local law enforcement personnel at the 2022 Law Enforce Appreciation Day (LEAD) event.

The public came out to Police Memorial Park to show support to Law Enforcement personnel from throughout the state. The Metro Honor guard launched the event with a bagpipe’s rendition of Amazing Grace, followed by a flag raising ceremony as the crowd stood proudly with hand over heart in awe of the sacrifices made by those who wear the badge.

“Lerner and Rowe Gives Back exists to ‘give back’ in the communities where our clients reside, in order to improve the quality of life in that community. This is best served when law enforcement agencies are proactive in community area policing.
