Mom’s Pantry – LRGB Grant Recipient

Making sure no man, woman, or child is hungry

Sadly, one in three households in Arizona experience food uncertainty. Thankfully, Mom’s Pantry shines like a beacon of hope during the current food drought that grossly impacts disadvantaged populations throughout the Phoenix Valley. As a 2023 Lerner & Rowe Gives Back grant recipient, Mom’s Pantry plans to use its $5,000 gift to stock the pantry with pallets of food, fresh fruits, and vegetables to last for the next quarter.

However, the need for proper nourishment is never ending and Mom’s Pantry continues to seek out resources to feed individuals, families, seniors, the disabled, the homeless, and more in need. Through empathy, deliberateness, and generous donations from individuals, grants, and corporations, Mom’s Pantry remains open so that every guest that seeks out help has enough food to last a week.

2023 Candlelighters Superhero 5K

Our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back Team enjoyed spending the afternoon with over a thousand superheroes at the 34th Candlelighters Superhero 5K at Mountain’s Edge Park in Las Vegas. The 2023 Candlelighters Superhero 5K marks the thirteenth year that we have been a community supporter of this phenomenal annual event.

We were equally thrilled to collaborate with others in contributing to the extraordinary success of this remarkable organization in 2023, as they achieved a fundraising milestone of over $340,000!

“No parent ever wants to hear the gut-wrenching words, ‘your child has cancer.’ We are so grateful for the Candlelighter Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern Nevada for the incredible work they do in providing emotional support, quality of life programs, and financial assistance for children and their families who are affected by childhood cancer.

The management, staff, volunteers, and donors are true superheroes. It is our honor to support this organization.”

Lerner & Rowe Gives Back granted The Be Kind People Project $10,000 to support the organization’s BE KIND School (BKS) program with a focus on “Be Fit. Be Healthy. Be Kind.” As poverty can be a barrier to healthier lifestyles, this program focuses intentionally on schools with the highest need.

By serving 4 schools with this engaging, effective, high-impact program, Lerner & Rowe Gives Back is thrilled to be able to help The Be Kind People Project help over 2,000 low-income students (with 75% or more of students in each school eligible for Free/Reduced Priced Lunch) improve their health and wellness during the 2023-2024 school year.

In addition, the larger goal for the program is to inspire students to demonstrate healthier habits on a daily basis, so that those habits will help them lead healthier lifestyles for many years and hopefully for the rest of their lives.
