National Ovarian Cancer Coalition

The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition is helping to break the silence of ovarian cancer. Find out how!

What is the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition?

National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) works to raise awareness and promote education about ovarian cancer to help improve the survival rate and quality of life for women with ovarian cancer.

More than 20,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, and approximately 15,000 women die annually from the disease. Unfortunately, most cases are diagnosed in their later stages when the prognosis is poor.

However, if diagnosed and treated early, when the cancer is confined to the ovary, the five-year survival rate is over 90 percent. That is why it is imperative that the early signs and symptoms of the disease are recognized, not only by women, but also by their families and the medical community.

Through national programs and local Chapter initiatives, the NOCC’s goal is to make more people aware of the early symptoms of ovarian cancer. In addition, the NOCC provides information to assist the newly diagnosed patient, to provide hope to survivors, and to support caregivers.

Their programs are possible only with the help of volunteers; committed men and women dedicated to the mission of the NOCC in communities across the country.

Go to www.ovarian.org to learn how you can make a donation or volunteer your time and join the efforts of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. Together it is possible to make a difference in the lives of women affected by ovarian cancer.
