Thank you to Lerner and Rowe Gives Back from PRM

To Lerner and Rowe Gives Back,

It goes without saying: There is no “Summer Vacation” for the homeless in Phoenix. With triple digit temperatures during the day, there is little escape from the brutal conditions.

One of The Phoenix Rescue Mission’s primary goals during June, July and August is to make sure that those men, women and children on the streets have enough water to survive.

Whenever we are running critically short of water and heat relief items like hats, sunscreen and lip balm, we put a call out to the community to help supply us with these items. Kevin Rowe is always the first to step up to help. He doesn’t hesitate, he doesn’t over-think it, he just jumps in enthusiastically to help those in need.

Last year, Kevin and his team collected the equivalent of 3400 cases of water for the Phoenix Rescue Mission. This effort most definitely SAVED LIVES.

Phoenix Rescue Mission would like to express our most sincere appreciation to Kevin Rowe, Linda Chelani, Lerner and Rowe Gives Back, their dedicated staff as well as their generous partners and clients who are collaborating to dramatically reduce the number of heat related deaths in Phoenix. Phoenix Rescue Mission has been serving the homeless in the Valley for 60 years. This milestone anniversary would not be possible without critical partnerships like the one we have with Kevin Rowe.

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back does exactly that… it gives back. Thank you for making this a “Summer of Hope” for our homeless neighbors.

Sincerely,

Mark Tullis

Letter of Thanks to Kevin Rowe from UMOM

Kevin Rowe of the Lerner & Rowe Gives Back Foundation has been a friend to UMOM New Day Centers for over a year. At UMOM we shelter over 130 homeless families each night.
This year Kevin and Lerner & Rowe Gives Back participated in our Winter Wonderland event. Through the foundation, Kevin purchased and distributed new winter jackets and other new winter clothing to over 300 homeless individuals living at UMOM.
With his support each person living at UMOM received a new winter jacket or other new warm clothing item. In addition, Kevin and the Lerner & Rowe Gives Back Foundation sponsored a bounce house at the Winter Wonderland event for the youth to enjoy.
We could not do our work in the community without the support of Kevin Rowe and Lerner & Rowe Gives Back and are so thankful for the friendship we share.UMOM New Day Centers

Back to School Tools is a community effort with Lerner and Rowe Gives Back, Mix 96.9 and Children First Academy. Children First Academy has two campuses, Phoenix and Tempe, that focuses on serving underprivileged children and at risk youth. The goal of the partnership is to raise much needed school supplies for the children and “other” items needed for the students such as, clothes, food, nursing office supplies and much more. With the help of Kevin Rowe and the Lerner and Rowe Gives Back Foundation, this program is in its third year and each year it grows exponentially!

In 2011 we were able to equip over 600 students with all their back to school needs from a backpack to all the school supplies.

Our students do not have the opportunity that many students in the valley do to go shopping for their supplies. By teaming with Lerner and Rowe Gives Back and Mix 96.9, we were able to open up a “store” in our cafeteria where our students were able to go shopping for their school supplies. The joy on their faces when they are able to walk out with a backpack and their school supplies is priceless.

Thank you to Kevin Rowe and the team of volunteers at Lerner and Rowe Gives Back for continuing to support Back to Schools Tools and making it a success every year. Without you, some children may not get the tools they need to get a successful education. Thank you Kevin, we appreciate all you have done.

Thank You to Family, Friends & Colleagues

Our Summer Heat Relief Water Drive for the Phoenix Rescue Mission was a huge success! We were able to raise 5,000 cases of water (approximately 120,000 bottles). The grand finale took place on July 30th as a human assembly line loaded the cases of water into Phoenix Rescue Mission trucks. We would like to thank all of our friends and colleagues for their donations as well as their help.
