This past Saturday, our team once again proudly participated in the annual Salt River Fields 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. It was a deeply moving experience to honor the fallen heroes of 9/11 alongside our community.
We climbed the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center, a symbolic journey that paid tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the firefighters, police officers, and EMS workers who perished on that tragic day. Each team carried a badge with the name and photo of a fallen first responder, adding a personal touch to this powerful act of remembrance.

As proud sponsors of the 100 Club of Arizona’s annual Tower Challenge, we were deeply honored to join a community dedicated to honoring the brave individuals who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Held each year to commemorate the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers, which stood 110 floors and 2,071 steps tall, this event invites thousands of Arizonans to walk, climb, and run as a testament to resilience, courage, and remembrance.
Throughout the morning, participants—firefighters in full gear, police officers, military members, bomb squad personnel, and civilians of all ages and abilities—gathered in solidarity. They ascended the stairs lined with photographs of the fallen heroes, pausing to read the names and reflect on the remarkable courage of those who gave their lives in service to others.
The Tower Challenge not only provided a powerful way to reflect on 9/11 but also offered an important opportunity to recognize and support the first responders and military members who continue to protect us daily. As participants pushed forward together, the spirit of unity and determination filled the air, reminding us all of the kindness, bravery, and strength displayed during that tragic time.
Proceeds from the event go directly to the 100 Club of Arizona, which extends critical support to the families of police and fire personnel who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty. Lerner & Rowe Gives Back spent the evening of August 29th at Ryan House serving a meal to local families who have recently experienced the heartbreak that comes with the death of a child. This was in partnership with Ryan House, who received $30k during the 2024 Lerner & Rowe Gives Back grant cycle toward their respite care program. The respite program allows families to take a break and recharge, while their child experiences fun activities with other young patients at the House.
Ryan House is the only facility of its kind in Arizona that provides around the clock compassionate medical care for medically fragile children from diagnosis through the hospice journey.

We were thrilled to have the opportunity to donate $10,000 to the Phoenix Mercury in support of their charitable causes. With our contribution, we’ve been able to send 1,000 local children to a Phoenix Mercury game this season, creating unforgettable memories and inspiring the next generation of basketball fans.
For us, this donation was more than just a financial contribution; it was a way to give back to our community. We’re proud to help bring joy and excitement to the lives of young people in our area.
We recognize the impact this experience has had and want to express our heartfelt thanks for the chance to be part of such a meaningful initiative.
Thanks to amazing staff members, school educators, and Clark County School District officers, 750 backpacks were given away in a record-breaking 22 minutes! All the teamwork helped make our Las Vegas backpack giveaway a huge success.

Bullhead City 2024 Backpack Giveaway
The Bullhead City back-to-school season got a fantastic boost on July 12th thanks to our 2024 free backpack giveaway event held at Rotary Park.
The event kicked off at 10:00 a.m. and quickly saw a steady stream of families eager to prepare their children for the upcoming school year. Our team of staff volunteers helped ensure a smooth process, with students receiving their backpacks directly in their vehicles.
In a display of community spirit, the giveaway provided 750 students with essential school supplies, easing the financial burden for many families. This giveaway will undoubtedly make a positive impact on countless Bullhead City students as they embark on a new academic year.
Lerner and Rowe’s FREE Yuma Backpack Giveaway, held on July 13th, 2024, at the Yuma County Fairgrounds, was a resounding success! The event aimed to support students in Yuma, Arizona, as they prepare for the upcoming school year by providing them with essential school supplies.

On July 19th, 2024, our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team rolled into Tucson, Arizona, marking our fifth stop on our annual backpack giveaway tour. The excitement kicked off at 10:00 a.m. sharp at the Pima County Fairgrounds. 750 backpacks, each brimming with essential school supplies, were up for grabs. The shaded venue also provided a comfortable space for families while they waited.

Merrillville Backpack Giveaway 2024
This past Saturday, August 10th, the Dean & Barbara White Center in Merrillville buzzed with excitement as the community came together for Lerner and Rowe’s FREE back-to-school backpack giveaway. The event, which ran from 9:00 a.m. until supplies lasted, saw 1,000 backpacks stuffed with school supplies disappear into eager students’ hands.
The giveaway didn’t stop there! Attendees enjoyed refreshing Day Dreams and Ice Cream treats, making the event a sweet start to the school year. Additionally, various guest vendors were present, offering resources and information relevant to families.
This generous annual initiative highlights our commitment to the Merrillville community and its students as families prepare for a successful academic year.

Lerner & Rowe Gives Back, committed to empowering Arizona’s youth, provided a $6,000 grant to Pass It On. This grant funded the purchase of sports equipment and free soccer clinics in underprivileged neighborhoods across the state.
Kicking Off Success:
Barrio 2 Barrio in Tucson (July 12th): Lerner & Rowe Gives Back also supported FC Tucson’s Barrio 2 Barrio event. Here, Pass It On’s donation tent thrived, distributing new soccer balls and shin guards purchased with the grant. FC Tucson players led drills and scrimmages, ensuring a fantastic time for the kids.
Free Soccer Clinic (July 16th): The grant helped Pass It On host a free clinic for kids from the Rising Families program in South Phoenix. Staff volunteers, including Tyler and Wade, led the event, generating excitement!

2024 Celebrity Golf Tournament Benefiting Special Olympics Illinois and The NASCAR Foundation
NASCAR legend Dale Jarrett traded the checkered flag for the putting green at the inaugural Lerner & Rowe Gives Back Celebrity Golf Tournament! This fundraising event tees off on Friday, July 5th at the prestigious Harborside International Golf Center in Chicago.
Our Chicago team joined Dale and other NASCAR stars for a chance to rub shoulders with the greats while supporting two worthy causes: Special Olympics Illinois and The NASCAR Foundation. Harborside International, known for its stunning city skyline views and 36 holes of scenic golf, provided the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable experience.

Thank you so much for your support of Harvest Compassion Center! We count it a privilege to serve children in the Valley, and we love seeing the smiles on their faces when they leave HCC with their favorite food items, clothes and shoes that fit well, and the necessary hygiene or baby products!
Because of your grant, we can continue our mission of feeding, clothing, and loving our neighbors in a hope-filled environment! Last month, we met and served 1,422 families! We distributed 9,300 diapers and over 70,000 pounds of food.
The need to secure basic necessities is high in the Phoenix Valley. Just over the next two months of summer, we will see hundreds of sweet, smiling kiddos shopping with their families in our centers, and we know that we will be able to serve each one of them because of your generous support and partnership!
