In recognition of National Adopt a Cat Month, our Northwest Indiana team made a heartwarming visit to the Independent Cat Society, a local sanctuary dedicated to finding forever homes for these deserving felines. We had the privilege of speaking with the board president, who undoubtedly shared their passion for helping cats in need.
The visit wouldn’t be complete without meeting some of the adorable adoptable cats themselves, and our team captured some heartwarming footage to share.
To show our support for their incredible work, we were honored to present the Independent Cat Society with a $250 donation.

Lerner & Rowe Helping to Build a Brighter Future with Habitat for Humanity of NWI
Our Lerner & Rowe team put their hard hats on for a day of volunteer fun with Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana. Handyman skills were put to the test while we assisted in installing support beams in two new house builds, as well as helped build a wheelchair accessible ramp on another home.
These aren’t just houses; they’re stepping stones to a brighter future for local families in Northwest Indiana. Habitat for Humanity makes homeownership possible by providing affordable opportunities for struggling, working families.
At Lerner & Rowe, our team is proud to be a part of building strong communities. Learn more about Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana at nwihabitat.org.

Lerner & Rowe Gives Back once again showed up to help alleviate hunger in Arizona as a sponsor of United Food Bank. For 2024, Kevin Rowe doubled our initial $10,000 dollar-to-dollar match to $20,000 during the food bank’s annual Summer of a Million Meals telethon on Channel 12 News.
We were excited to later find out that over $45K total was raised on the day of our donation! It’s just another example of how together we can do more for our neighbors in need.
If you have not made a donation yet it’s not too late to join this summer long initiative. And since $1 = 15 meals, donations from $1 and up can help United Food Bank reach their million-meal goal for 2024.

Laughter for a Cause: Team Supports Northwest Indiana St. Jude House
Our Northwest Indiana team enjoyed an evening of laughter and hope at the Stand Up for St. Jude House comedy show fundraiser. St. Jude House is a family violence prevention center located in Crown Point, Indiana, and has been serving Northwest Indiana since 1995. It’s the largest shelter in the area, providing safe haven, crisis intervention, and comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence and their children, free of charge.
Vital funds were raised to help St. Jude House continue their critical mission. Their services include a 40-bed emergency shelter, 24/7 crisis hotline, case management, legal advocacy, support groups, and more. They also empower survivors through programs like parenting classes, financial education, and job training.
We look forward to a longstanding partnership with this honorable organization that works tirelessly to end domestic violence and empower survivors in Northwest Indiana!
