2023 February Pantry Pack Program

Lerner and Rowe team with Mo - February Pantry Pack Program

Our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team truly enjoys helping to fight hunger in Maricopa County. That is why we once again teamed up with ALT AZ 93.3 and the Valley of the Sun United Way to help end hunger in Maricopa County by donating $5,500 to help cover the costs for 625 pantry packs.

Each month one participating school with free and reduced lunch eligibility in South and Southwest Phoenix, Maryvale, or Guadalupe is chosen to receive 1,500 pantry packs.

Students at the Academia del Pueblo were the recipients of the pantry packs that our team helped assemble on February 28th.

What’s Inside Each Pantry Pack?

Pantry Packs are filled with shelf-stable and nutritional pantry items to include:

  • Canned chicken
  • Fruit cups
  • Granola bars
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Oatmeal
  • Peanut butter crackers

Here are a few stats to help highlight the importance of these pantry packs: 82,000 families in Maricopa County face chronic food insecurities and 1 in 5 children live in food insecure homes.

How to Join the Fight Against Hunger!

Every month during the school year Valley of the Sun United Way provides Pantry Packs to 1,500 Maricopa County students to ensure they and their families have enough food staples to help supplement their food pantries through the end of the month.

The BIG Search 2023

Our Las Vegas outreach team was pleased to once again join F.R.E.E. International, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Clark County School District Police Department, and other organizations and volunteers for Nevada Child Seekers’ annual The BIG Search in Las Vegas for 2023.  We were even more thrilled to learn that 14 missing children were located and returned home!

What You Can Do to Help

Aside from volunteering during the annual Big Search in Las Vegas, you can help by learning more about Nevada Child Seekers and how the agency assists families and law enforcement agencies to locate missing children in Las Vegas and across the country. Visit NevadaChildSeekers.org to make a donation to support its efforts, find educational resources, to print and share missing children flyers, report a missing child, and more.

A Night to Shine – Volunteer Night

A Night to Shine - Volunteer Night

Our team had a blast on Friday helping pamper those attending Tim Tebow Foundation’s “A Night to Shine” with Opportunity Enterprises (OE).

OE is a wonderful community organization that serves individuals with developmental disabilities.

Clients and community members came to OE’s campus to get their hair, makeup, and nails done before their prom-like event that evening.

Everyone looked beautiful, and we hope they enjoyed their night!

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale Celebrate Youth Gala Sponsor

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back continues to proudly support the efforts of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale as a repeated sponsor of its annual youth gala that uplifts and celebrates the achievements of local youth.

How You Can Get Involved and Give Back

Even though tickets are sold out for this year’s youth gala in March 2023, you can still show your support by gifting a donation and emailing [email protected] to be notified when the silent auction will be open.

Funds raised through ticket sales, silent auction items, and sponsorships, such as our $10,000 Youth of the Year sponsorship, will be used by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale to support programs focused on academics, advocacy and leadership, imagination and creativity, and healthy-habits.

2023 Big Game Week Arizona Surprise Donations

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back donated $15,000 to local nonprofits who support youth sports to kick off 2023 Big Game week in Arizona.

We caravanned around Phoenix surprising the organizations with balloons, confetti, and a check presentation to thank them for grooming the NFL stars of tomorrow.

The following Phoenix youth nonprofit sports organizations received $5,000 each:

  • Positive Coaching Alliance
  • National Football Foundation
  • National Quarterback Club

Youth sports are an important part of the Lerner & Rowe Gives Back mission, as Kevin Rowe is an advocate for the importance of youth sports. These organizations help kids get their start in athletics at a young age to build character and strengthen communities.

Animal Welfare Day in Chicago

Our Chicago team had the pleasure of volunteering with the Anti-Cruelty Society last week.

During our visit, team members learned all about the organization’s history, what they do to serve people and animals throughout Chicago, and how our team can help be a part of that impact.

Volunteers even made tug toys and no-sew beds for the shelter’s residents!

It was a great afternoon filled with service and furry snuggles.

2022 Las Vegas Christmas Toy Giveaway

2022 Las Vegas Christmas Toy Giveaway

Our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team hosted an impromptu Las Vegas Christmas toy giveaway with the Clark County School District Police Department outreach team in the neighborhood behind The STRAT Hotel, Casino, and SkyPod.

500 children and their families were beaming with smiles while visiting with Santa as Glen Lerner and team helped him hand out toys.

“Of all of the community outreach activities that we do in over a half a dozen states, I absolutely love taking a box-truck filled with toys into economically depressed neighborhoods and passing them out to the children and families. Seeing the look of joy on the children and their parent’s faces is one of the most rewarding of experiences. What a fitting way to end our 2022 community outreach season!” –Glen Lerner

Put On The Cape Caravan of Giving

Put On The Cape Caravan

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back gifted a $10,000 grant to the Put On The Cape (POTC) foundation to “do something great with it.” On Monday, December 5th POTC, with the help of Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Santa’s Super Elves, will travel across the valley in a caravan of giving to do just that!

During each stop at one of POTC foundation family advocacy center partners in Peoria, Goodyear, Chandler, Scottsdale, and Glendale—$2,000 will be given to two adopted families that have been devastated by abuse this year.

How to Join the POTC Caravan of Giving

Want to join the POTC caravan? Bring a new, unwrapped toy and give to any of these Arizona family advocacy centers:

  • Southwest Family Advocacy Center
  • Glendale Family Advocacy Center
  • Scottsdale Family Advocacy Center
  • Chandler Family Advocacy Center
  • Surprise Police Victim Advocate
  • New Pathways for Youth
  • Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community Family Advocacy Center (Tribal)

Or, you can make an online donation now. The best part of this caravan of giving is that when you give to POTC,  they will give back to those who need it the most.
