With the assistance of our community partners at United Food Bank, we distributed 500 frozen turkeys, plus a $20 gift card for side fixings, during our annual Phoenix Turkey Giveaway to underserved Phoenix families.
We are grateful to the Food Bank for once again assisting us in facilitating a drive-through giveaway that directly benefits underserved local families, as well as the efforts of our team.

Our team is pleased to once again join other local entities and individuals in support of Arizona teachers by partnering with the Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers program. For 2020, dollars raised through sponsorships and donations to Wishes for Teachers were divided between 200 randomly drawn Arizona K-12 public and charter school educators.
Each teacher chosen won a $2,500 grant to be used to enhance their classroom experience. Winners were announced on Tuesday, November 10 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. via a live stream on fiestabowl.org. Our Chicago and Merrillville teams spent time last week making inspirational cards for students and thank you cards for our frontline healthcare workers, first responders, and deployed troops.
Cards will be distributed to local students through Back to School America and the others will be sent to Operation Gratitude to be included in their care packages.

With Halloween just a day away, the Vulnerable Road Users Project UNLV, part of the Transportation Research Center at UNLV, kicked off their 2nd Annual Dusk to Dawn Crosswalk Safety Program in partnership with RTC of Southern Nevada, Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Clark County School District Police Department, and Nevada Department of Public Safety.
The majority of Nevada’s pedestrian fatalities occur between dusk and dawn, which is why Lerner and Rowe Gives Back is sponsoring the crosswalk safety program by providing reflective wrist bands (slap bands), that will be distributed out of 70 local convenience stores, so that wearers will be more visible to motorists at night time.
On the night of October 28, our Las Vegas community experienced its 52nd pedestrian fatality of the year, which is one fatality over last year’s record high of 51.

We are hopeful that the awareness resulting from this campaign, will help to make our crosswalks safer, and save lives. Our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team participated in UMC Children’s Hospital’s Halloween Safe-Tacular that was presented in partnership with Kohl’s Cares. The contactless drive-through event was staged in the Bronze Parking Lot at the Las Vegas Convention Center on Oct. 24 from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
In addition to providing the community with a festive Halloween event, Safe-Tacular supports the hospital’s mission to reduce the number and severity of pedestrian injuries among children in Southern Nevada.

Over 400 cars filled with costumed children, parents, and some dogs, drove past tables and pop ups that were decorated and filled with costumed volunteers. There was a steady stream of cars for well over four hours.
During the event children received free goodie bags with treats, pedestrian safety gear, and valuable safety information.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson’s Associate Board hosted its 3rd Annual Swing for the Kids Charity event on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Topgolf. Our team was once again a proud supporter of this annual charitable event that supports Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson efforts to ensure the Clubs can provide its families with prepackaged Thanksgiving dinners.

For the sixth year in a row, our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team participated in Paul’s Car Wash to benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona (BBBSAZ).
And even though this year’s fundraiser is virtual, our team members still participated by washing our work vehicles at a Super Star Car Wash in Phoenix.
Kevin Rowe also virtually presented a $10,000 check that was later given to CBS 5 Chief Meteorologist Paul Horton.

#LovePupDay was a virtual adoption and animal appreciation event on Saturday, October 10 that was created to offset the cancellation of #LovePup Foundation’s annual Family Fests.
As our team is a strong supporter of the #LovePup Foundation, we couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to once again show our support and sponsor the foundation’s activities as a $6,000 #LovePupDay Platinum Partnership sponsor in Phoenix and as a $3,000 #LovePup Day Title Partnership sponsor in Tucson.
COVID-19 closures have had a monumental impact on in-person fundraising and adoption events. Lerner and Rowe Gives Back donated $3,000 towards the Night of Hope Gala benefiting Amanda Hope Rainbow Angels. Our team feels uplifted to know that our contribution will be used to provide Comfycozys for Chemo Care packs for 60 little warriors fighting childhood cancer.
Comfycozys are an adaptive apparel line featuring zippers, buttons, snaps, pockets, and openings for nurses to more discreetly access a young cancer patient’s port while allowing the child to remain comfortably covered.
Funds raised during their annual gala are the reason they are able to offer support and free services to the many families impacted by childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
