Las Vegas Backpack Giveaway 2020

The Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team sponsored its annual Back-to-School event this year at Peterson Elementary. We partnered with Clark County School District Police, Spring Meadows Presbyterian Church, and Dean Peterson Elementary to provide a CONTACTLESS DRIVE-THRU backpack giveaway.

The event went well with an added benefit for several of the children were able to see their teachers for the first time in over 6 months. One little boy was so excited to see his teacher, that he got out of the car and ran over to hug his teacher.

In just over two and a half hours, we were able to give away 750 backpacks and not one child left empty handed.

“We love doing the back to school event each year as it gives us the opportunity to share some love with the children and their families who need a little helping hand. We were honored to provide much needed school supplies; and it was especially heartwarming to see the many reunions between the children and their teachers!

We also could not do what we do, without the support and partnership we enjoy with CCSD PD, Spring Meadows Church, and the teachers and staff at Dean Peterson Elementary.”

Bottled Water Collection Site in Las Vegas

Bottled Water Saves Lives

Our Las Vegas outreach team is accepting bottled water donations at the Lerner and Rowe Injury Attorneys law office located at 4795 South Durango Drive throughout the summer, especially on the “excessive heat warning” days.

To help maintain social distancing, all donated bottled water may be left at the firm’s back door from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The life-saving water will be delivered to several local charities and social service agencies that offer supportive assistance to vulnerable homeless populations.

Help Prevent Heat-related Deaths in Las Vegas

Las Vegas heat-related deaths have been increasing in the last several years, according to a June analysis by the Desert Research Institute. As of August 31 of last year, 65 people had died of hyperthermia or in situations in which heat played a factor, reports the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Please help us help those in need this summer by dropping off cases of bottled water. Contact Guy Williams at 702-858-9941, or via email at [email protected] with any questions regarding our Las Vegas bottled water drop-off site.

$5,000 Donation to Mark & NeanderPaul Feed Arizona

Mark & NeanderPaul Feed Arizona

Since mid-March the food demand on St. Mary’s Food Bank has increased by 700%. That staggering amount is what prompted the creation of the Mark & NeanderPaul Feed Arizona food drive.

Our Gives Back team couldn’t be more pleased to help kick off the drive with a $5,000 donation to help the food bank replenish their supplies and feed local families.

Donations will be accepted online now through June 13, 2020. On the last day of the food drive, Mark & NeanderPaul will be at a Phoenix Safeway store located at 810 E Glendale Ave. from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. accepting in-person donations.

$5,000 Provides 35,000 Meals

At first glance seeing that $5,000 = 35,000 meals may seem like an unlikely number. However, St. Mary’s Food Bank knows how to optimize every dollar spent, literally. For every $1 received the food bank is able to provide 7 meals.

We invite others to join us in helping feed our neighbors in need. As you can see, any dollar amount donated will add up to a significant gift. Together we can do more!

Chicago Police Department’s CAPS Program Sponsor

Lerner and Rowe was proud to sponsor Chicago Police Department’s CAPS program of the 9th district “The Harriet Tubman Experience Black History Month” event. This event brought together community members, organizations, various cultures, and many talents in celebration of the accomplishments and milestones of the African American culture.

Attendees got to see several performances related to the African American culture.

LVMPD Homeless Outreach Event

Our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team supported Las Vegas Metro Police Department’s (LVMPD) Enterprise Area Command’s Homeless Outreach on the southside of Las Vegas. These quarterly events permit officers the opportunity to maintain good relations with our homeless population, while at the same time, minister to their needs.

Attendees were provided with pizzas, drinks, hygiene kits, showers, and access to the social services provided by Anthem Blue Cross and Crossroads Recovery Center.

“It is an incredible honor to go into the neighborhoods where our clients live, and improve the quality of life for the least so that all may prosper. Events like today’s not only bless our poorer neighbors, but it has been proven to improve the quality of life for all who live in the community. Such is the reason we formed Lerner and Rowe Gives Back.” —Glen Lerner

NIAA Regional Wrestling & Basketball Championship Sponsors

It was a great turn out for both the Regional Wrestling and Regional Basketball Championships! We are proud to sponsor the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association and continue to support Nevada’s high school sports.

Las Vegas Cop on a Rooftop

Our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team had the pleasure of supporting the Special Olympics Nevada chapter by participating in today’s Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser at Carl’s Donuts in Las Vegas. We truly enjoyed getting to know several of the young athletes and their families.

While at the event, we also hosted a distracted driving clinic and handed out “Don’t Drive Distracted” windshield stickers and keychains.

Our team hopes that these stickers and key chains will serve as a daily reminder for drivers to be cautious and alert every time they get behind the steering wheel.

“Supporting local organizations and area service providers that have a positive impact in the lives of our neighbors, such as the Special Olympics Nevada and our first responder community partners, is exactly why we formed Lerner and Rowe Gives Back,” said Glen Lerner. “We are also excited with each opportunity we receive to join an event and share our distracted driving simulator. We see it as doing our part to help make our streets and highways safer.”

What Is Cop on a Rooftop?

Once a year local law enforcement personnel perch on a rooftop to help raise funds for Special Olympics Nevada. The officers get to come off their perch after fundraising goals are met.

In Las Vegas, there were several first responder agencies in attendance, namely: Clark County School District Police Department, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Nevada Department of Corrections, and Community Ambulance.
