Hope for the Homeless Event – East Las Vegas

East Las Vegas Homelessness OutreachOur Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team partnered today with the New Journey Church by providing food and bottled water for the visitors to the Hope for the Homeless event on the east side of Las Vegas.

The majority of the visitors were homeless people who live nearby. In addition to food, all visitors were provided free haircuts, showers, clothing, and personal hygiene kits. Our team enjoyed caring for our neighbors in need and were able to transport a few of them to local shelters.

“It was a privilege to work side by side with our community partners to make a difference for our poorest of neighbors,” stated Glen Lerner.

Father’s Appreciation Event in Chicago’s South Side

Over the weekend, our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back Team proudly sponsored an Appreciation Event that was put on by our community partner, The Chicago Police Department and from Chicago’s Community Area Policing.

Fathers and father figures were honored at the event where Officer Sabrina Oliphant-King of Chicago PD’s Community Policing Office, and Love Teaching Youth ministries, created a festive environment that included great food, entertainment, clothing giveaway, haircuts, massages and much more.

The “Father’s Appreciation Event,” honored the father’s and father figures raising children in the 9th Police District on Chicago’s South Side. The event provided young men and boys who were ex-offenders, ex-gang members, and, or homeless men who were given a second chance at life. The various community partners provided various services to those in attendance, including role modeling, dress for success, and lots of encouragement from community leaders.

“We have been a longtime supporter and sponsor of The Chicago Police Department and their Chicago PD’s Community Policing Office program, as they focus on rebuilding public trust, reducing crime, and restoring neighborhoods where many of our clients and employees live.” Glen Lerner, ESQ.

Paying It Forward in the Community

Special Feature in So Scottsdale

Kevin Rowe and Glen Lerner | The Man IssueIn this special feature edition of So Scottsdale, Kevin Rowe and Glen Lerner discuss how the law firm does more than protect their personal injury clients against big insurance companies.

With the help and support of their team at Lerner and Rowe, they also make a positive impact by giving back to the community through their nonprofit Lerner and Rowe Gives Back.

Read the interview for more details on how they’ve made a difference in people’s lives as a law firm and through their nonprofit organization.

National Police Week

National Police Week 2019

LRGB Water Bottle Donation 2019President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation in 1962 which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day. From that point forward, the week in which that date falls was named National Police Week.

As such, the Police Wives of Southern Nevada (PWOSN) seek donations from local organizations and businesses to be handed out to the 6,500 law enforcement officers of Southern Nevada during this week. PWOSN does this as a means to show appreciation of the law enforcement officers who take an active role in protecting communities on a daily basis.

For the second year in a row, we’ve stepped up to support PWOSN’s efforts by donating water bottles, time, and other resources throughout this week of gratitude.

A Day of Fellowship, A Week of Goodwill

Water Bottle Assemble - National Police Week In preparation for National Police Week Guy Williams, our community outreach coordinator, joined with PWOSN on multiple days to help assemble a portion of the 6,500 bottles our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back foundation donated to the group.

The portion of water bottles Guy helped assemble were passed out to every police officer of the South Central Area Command, the Bolden Area Command, and the North Las Vegas Area Command.

“The Police Wives of Southern Nevada play an integral role in supporting the police officers, their spouses, and families. It is an honor for Lerner and Rowe Gives Back to support our Southern Nevada police officers and their wives for the second year in a row,” shared attorney Glen Lerner.

National Police Week Las Vegas

Wrap-Up at Community Cookout

To wrap up National Police Week, our Gives Back team supplied water for a community cookout hosted by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).

The community cookout took place at Doolittle Park as a means to show support of the many neighbors who live in this area of town.

The water we supplied was used to help ensure the hundreds of children and families in attendance remained hydrated while enjoying the planned festivities.

During the afternoon of food and fun, children and their families were all smiles as they enjoyed the nice weather, face painting, grilled hot dogs and burgers, disc jockey, and taking tours of a pink and white Metro cruiser.

Moreover, we were grateful to make new friends with other community-minded organizations and individuals; and were especially blessed to meet with Pastor Matthew Teis of Liberty Baptist Church and the staff and students from Cornerstone Church.

Both community churches are doing a fabulous job with the neighborhood youth providing everything from ice hockey camps to bible studies.

Glen Lerner recapped on the week-long events by sharing, “We are honored to support LVMPD in their community engagement activities such as the community cookout that took place at Doolittle Part.”

“Over the past three years of working with local law enforcement officers, we have witnessed a reduction in violent crime. We believe these positive results are a reflection of LVMPD’s efforts to invest in reaching out to the most disadvantaged and hardest hit Las Vegas neighborhoods. Further, we were honored to give back and support this community cookout. It was a perfect ending to our week-long celebration of National Police Week!”

#LovePup It’s Hip to Chip Sponsors

Hip to Chip 2019 SponsorLerner and Rowe Gives Back is very excited to be part of the one year anniversary of the #LovePup It’s Hip to Chip microchipping initiative. This is #LovePup’s biggest program yet, and we’re so pleased to be a part of it for another year.

One Year Anniversary Details

Join us in celebrating the success of the It’s Hip to Chip program and meet some of the microchipped dogs that have been adopted out to furever homes over the past year.

Event highlights include dog food and treats handed out by Safeway/Albertsons for the four-legged guests, tasty offerings from food trucks for the two-legged guests, and educational information explaining the importance of microchipping. AZ Pet Vet will also be microchipping all dogs that come without microchips.

Details to save:

DATE: Saturday, May 11, 2019
TIME: 9:00 a.m. to noon
LOCATION: Maricopa County Animal Care and Control West (2500 S. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85009)

Why It’s Hip to Chip

The It’s Hip to Chip Program aims to ensure that all dogs adopted from either of the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control Animal Shelters locations receive a microchip upon their adoption. Microchips make it easier for owners to find their lost pets.

By storing the owner’s contact information in a database, a microchip takes the guesswork out of trying to find a runaway pup. And, since the microchip is implanted under the dog’s skin, there’s no need to worry about losing the device like a collar or tag.

The People Who Love Pups

Radio host Johnjay Van Es and his family have been fostering stray dogs for adoption in their home for years. The entire family shares a passion for helping animals and preparing them for their future forever home. Since the creation of #LovePup, the family has rescued, fostered, and found homes for over 500 dogs. Van Es uses the power of social media to screen interested owners and match the dogs with the perfect home.

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back would like to encourage you to adopt your next family friend instead of buying. Check out the #LovePup Foundation for an array of furry companions waiting for their forever home.
