Hoving Home Walk & Remember

Prayer Wall listing names of loved ones who are either battling with addiction, or lost their lives to addiction.

The Lerner and Rowe Gives Back Team was blessed to participate in the Hoving Home Walk & Remember event today. The Walk was established as a means to REMEMBER loved ones who have lost their lives to addiction. Additionally, those attending gathered to pray for those in the battle with addiction.

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back values the work of the Hoving Home and other organizations that bring real transformation to lives that are broken due to addiction and bad choices. Our team is also proud to support the Hoving Home in Las Vegas.

2019 JDRF One Walk & Rock and Run Sponsor

Logan’s Diabetes Defeaters

As with most of the organizations our team chooses to support, there was a personal component behind why we got involved with two Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDFR) events this past weekend at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona.

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back was pleased to donate in the name of team Logan’s Diabetes Defeaters at both the JDRF One Walk and JDRF Rock & Run. Logan is the son of a friend and neighbor of our team member Melanie Stowers. He is 9 years old and was diagnosed 2 ½ years ago.

Amazing Turnouts

There were about 14,000 people in attendance at the morning JDRF One Walk. Our founder Kevin Rowe joined in the fun and enjoyed meeting team namesake, Logan.

Later that evening we returned for the JDRF Rock & Run. Our night crew was among an approximate 450 supporters putting tennis shoes to pavement to help fight juvenile disabilities.

Proceeds raised from the JDRF One Walk and JDRF Rock & Run will be used to fund scientific research to better treat, prevent, and ultimately cure type 1 diabetes.

$5,000 Donation to Support Teen’s Soccer Non-Profit, Pass It On

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back Partners with Pass It On

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back was presented with a unique partnership opportunity to support a local nonprofit, Pass It On, founded by Wade Crum, a 13-year-old soccer player. The nonprofit’s mission is to make it possible for every kid to get involved and play soccer, despite economic challenges.

One of the ways Pass It On does this is by collecting new and gently-used sports equipment and clothing for children in need.

Another way is through financial donations such as the $5,000 donation our foundation gave them to help cover costs to purchase more collection bins and other materials.

Passing It On, So Everyone Can Play

Pass It On started with Crum’s idea that his soccer clothing and equipment was worth something even if he couldn’t use it because he’d outgrown it. Furthermore, he thought that he should give the gear to other kids who could not afford to buy it so they too could enjoy the positive impacts of soccer. More specifically, for them to have the same opportunities he has to make new friends, learn the importance of teamwork, and the joy that comes from doing something you love.

Crum also knew there must be hundreds of kids like him in his soccer club with closets full of unused clothing and equipment, too.

Then, after it was discovered that there wasn’t an organization dedicated to accepting the donation of soccer clothing and equipment for kids in need, he asked his mom about starting a nonprofit to fill the gap.

Wade Crum’s parents and older brother couldn’t be more supportive of him and appreciative of the generosity from community organizations such as Lerner and Rowe Gives Back. His mother Sarah shared with us that Pass It On began with an idea from her son, but it has since grown from an idea into a network of people who all care about those in need and who are willing to do lend a helping hand.

Game Plan for Zero Waste

Soccer Nonprofit logoNot just satisfied with sharing resources and opening opportunities for others in need, Wade also wants to achieve zero waste of soccer clothing and equipment. He believes this can be accomplished by passing on all gear to another child who can use it.

For those interested in learning more about Pass It On, how to donate equipment, or how to set up a donation drive, please visit passitonsoccer.net, or email Wade Crum directly at [email protected].

Benefiting Nonprofit for Scottsdale Tennis Week Charity Event

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back Names Nonprofit Benefactor of Scottsdale Tennis Week

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back Named an Honorary Benefactor

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back was served a thrilling honor by being chosen as one of two local nonprofits to benefit from proceeds raised during the inaugural Scottsdale Tennis Week (STW), sponsored by Carvana. As such, we wanted to share details about the first-time event that it said to combine tennis, culinary, and unique daily event experiences at Scottsdale Fashion Square’s event venue (located north of the shopping enter).

Scottsdale Tennis Week Details

From Thursday, March 28 – Sunday, March 31, 2019, each themed day showcases different group competitions and ends with a variety act or performance.

For instance, one of the main attractions is the Celebrity ProAm, Desert Smash to be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019, where celebrities and professional athletes collide on the court. Once the action on the court ends, it’s time for the after party to begin which will include feature bands, DJ’s, and a Desert Smash special guest.

All ticketing information can be found online at scottsdaletennisweek.com. Or, you can email any questions you have about the event to [email protected].

Most importantly, remember that partial proceeds from the event will be given to Lerner and Rowe Gives Back. Our nonprofit foundation will then pay those forward to assist local charitable groups that help make our community better. So, don’t wait! This event is a great way for you to give back, all while fun!!

March 2019 Giving Project

From 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 09, 2019, our Las Vegas Outreach team barbecued 700 hot dogs for guests who showed up to the Giving Project. The location for this day of giving was the City of Las Vegas Courtyard (Homeless Resource Center) located at 1401 N. Las Vegas Blvd., 89101. Guests in attendance were also able to get IDs, eye glasses, as well as lots of clothing, blankets, and medical services. “The best part of participating in the Giving Project was seeing the big smiles that light up the faces of many guests who attended the event,” stated Guy Williams, community outreach coordinator at  Lerner and Rowe Injury Attorneys.
