Las Vegas Rescue Mission Charity Golf Classic

Lerner and Rowe Injury Attorneys proudly announces their sponsorship of the 14th annual Las Vegas Rescue Mission Charity Golf Classic. The event kicks off with a shotgun start at 7:30 am at the Arroyo Golf Club on June 8th. Entry fees includes a post-tournament lunch, complimentary gift bag, raffle prizes, and the biggest perk of all: helping the city’s homeless population.

More about Las Vegas Rescue Mission

The LVRM provides hope and change for the homeless and hungry population in southern Nevada. They strive to be the model for other organizations. The proceeds from this event fund their programs and services that assist the homeless for a better tomorrow. This organization receives no government support, except for a small grant specifically for food, and relies upon the compassion and support of organizations, corporations, churches and individuals.

Founded in 1970, the Las Vegas Rescue Mission started with a small storefront building. The services included a chapel, kitchen and a shelter for housing a few men. Nowadays the mission’s campus covers two city blocks to help hundreds and providing 30,000 meals monthly. You can also give back by shopping at the thrift shop on the campus.

For more info about the event or also, how to give back, please contact Heather Williams ([email protected]) or on 702-320-2089.

National Donut Day 2018

National Donut Day 2018

Savory Story Behind National Doughnut Day

As you may know, the first Friday of June has a connection to one particularly savory sweet confection – the donut. But, do you know the story behind National Donut Day? The first donut day event took place in 1938 in Chicago as a fundraiser created by The Salvation Army to assist the disadvantage during The Great Depression.

Present Day Chicago continues to keep the tradition of giving back alive. Through The Salvation Army’s Mobile Feeding and Outreach Program, funds raised on National Donut support Chicagoland area:

  • Food pantries;
  • Nutrition programs for children; in addition to,
  • Meals for senior citizens and homeless.

You can support The Salvation Army’s effort by making an online donation now!

Other Fun Facts About National Donut Day

  • National Donut Day pays tribute to The Salvation Army “Donut Lassies” who supported front line troops during World War I.
  • The nickname “Donut Lassies” originated from two volunteers that used limited supplies, resources, and soldier helmets to fry much-appreciated donuts for the troops. (Seven at a time.)
  • “Donut Lassies” didn’t just make donuts for soldiers. They also provided stamps, writing supplies, meals, and mending services.
  • National Donut Day helps raise funds and increase awareness about the many social service programs The Salvation Army offers.

How Lerner and Rowe Gives Back Supports Efforts of The Salvation Army

Lerner and Rowe Injury Attorneys proudly partners with The Salvation Army in the Chicagoland area. One annual event the law firm gives back to and supports is the distribution of family meals over the Thanksgiving holiday. Additionally, the firm gets involved with the annual toy giveaways during the Christmas season at the Ray & Joan Kroc Center.

Lerner and Rowe hope that other business and individuals who can will also get involved and show an interest in making a difference like The Salvation Army. Together the power of joining together does make a difference.

Las Vegas Community BBQ

Neighborly Goodwill Event

Due to multiple shootings in the neighborhood over the past three months, tensions run high in a central Las Vegas neighborhood. To help lighten the dark cloud that seems to have fallen over this community, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department (LVMPD) felt compelled to put together a community outreach event just for them. Lerner and Rowe Injury Attorneys seek ways to help make Las Vegas the best place to live and work. That is why our team jumped at the opportunity to give back and get involved in this community BBQ.

BBQ & Community Day Out

The outreach event takes place on Saturday, May 26th. In addition, family-friendly activities planned for the afternoon include:

  • Performance by DJ Thump;
  • Several guest speakers from LVMPD and the Clark County Housing Authority;
  • Cruise for two raffle drawing;
  • Two bounce houses;

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back Honors Law Enforcement During National Police Week

7,500 Bags Donated for 2018 National Police Week

Purple Bags for National Police Week AppreciationIn honor of National Police Week (May 13th – 19th), Lerner and Rowe Injury Attorneys’ team in Las Vegas donated 7,500 drawstring bags to the Police Wives of America. Once filled, these appreciation bags will be gifted to local members of law enforcement throughout the week.

Each bag contains snacks, hand sanitizer, drinks and restaurant gift cards donated by other like-minded Las Vegas businesses that share our desire to “Back the Blue.”

We are also proud to say that our support of law enforcement does not begin and end during National Police Week. Lerner and Rowe’s legal team gives back throughout the year. The Las Vegas personal injury law firm does this by sponsoring and often participating in Metro health and wellness fairs. In addition to holiday events and town hall meetings that bring community members together.

More About National Police Week & Police Wives of America

Congress established National Police Week in 1962. During the week many organizations collaborate together to recognizing the service and sacrifices of U.S. Law Enforcement. National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers. Most noteworthy, those who lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

Police Wives of America is a national nonprofit that unites police wives across America. The organization focuses on becoming one team with one purpose. To support law enforcement men and women and their families during difficult and joyful life milestones. The Las Vegas Metro Police Wives chapter opened in May of 2009. Since its inception, the Las Vegas chapter membership has grown to over 650 wives.
