Container Home Ground Breaking Ceremony- Veterans Village 2

New Mini Homes to House Veterans in Veterans Village

Veterans Village

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back.

Veterans Village recently broke ground on a new transitional housing project for Las Vegas veterans at 50 N. 21st Street on February 26th. The mini houses of Village #2 Container House Village will be constructed out of shipping containers. These containers provide a great low-cost, affordable housing alternative for our community’s veterans.

This organization strives to create an environment specifically for United States Veterans. This includes housing as well as a 24/7 crisis center for those suffering mental illnesses. They have created local public and private partnerships to provide supplies and services for the residents.

Various community leaders, including Mayor Carolyn Goodman, where in attendance and had the opportunity to tour a model of the future container homes.

Our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team looks forward to supporting Veterans Village in their efforts to benefit the lives of local veterans throughout the upcoming year. We are also honored to consider Veterans Village one of our key partners in improving the quality of life for all Las Vegans.

The offices of Lerner and Rowe strive to give back to the community whenever they can. This is especially true when veterans are involved. Our vets deserve a home to call their own.

There are many ways that you can give back to this prestigious organization, whether it is through Amazon Smile, or through donation of a paver with a special message on it.

Karts & Guitars Sponsorship

KartsandGuitars2018Lerner and Rowe Gives Back is proud to be a $10K level sponsor of Karts & Guitars, the premier kick off event for the 2018 Spring Baseball season! 100% of proceeds raised will benefit Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Center in Arizona.

Solid Rock is a faith-based creative sanctuary for troubled teens. The organizations primary goal is to make an everlasting difference in the lives of teens by helping them meet spiritual, economical, physical, and social needs.

Solid Rock does this by offering a safe, engaging environment for teens during non-school hours where they can discover their passions for music, dance, and other creative arts through vocational programs. Youth also benefit from enjoying fellowship with their peers and positive adult role models.

As funding in public schools continues to be cut for self-empowering programs such as music, art, and dance, Sold Rock provides a welcoming haven away from other social pressures that could lead to gang membership, acts of violence, and drug use.

Valentine’s Day Veterans Village Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony-Valentine’s Day in Veterans Village

Veterans Village 3We are proud to be partnering with Veterans Village Assisted Living for their ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, February 14 from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Multiple local dignitaries are said to be in attendance to this event, including Keynote Speaker Mayor Carolyn Goodman.

Veterans Village is a nonprofit assisted living home for veterans who served our country. This will be the opening of their 3rd campus. The amount of homeless Veterans in America is shocking and saddening which is why Veterans Village is such a worth while organization. It’s important to give back to those men and women who have given up so much to serve our country and fought for our freedom. The Veterans Village mission is “Serves Those Who Have Served with Respect and Dignity

To keep with the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we ordered 100 red roses have been ordered to be passed out to all of the women in attendance along with 250 cupcakes from The Cupcakery. Why not spend the designated “day of love” giving back and showing love to those in need? This is a great organization and we hope our community embraces it as much as we have!

Jonathan and his buddy Adam spent countless hours enjoying camaraderie, friendship, and true acceptance. Both of the boy’s families also connected and developed a lasting friendship. This bond truly reflects the meaning of the Friendship Circle.

After a short battle with cancer in 2010, Jonathan left this world behind. This annual walk is dedicated in his memory and the culture of kindness that he was part of within the teenage community.

$8,600 Raised During 98KUPD’s Troop Transport

Troop TransportLerner and Rowe teamed up with Fitz Madrid from 98KUPD and the Maricopa County StandDown to help raise funds that will be used to provide local high-risk and homeless veterans with one-day bus passes to assist them with any transportation needs.

The response was HUGE! Maricopa County StandDown’s original request was for 2,000 bus passes, and they were given 4,200. KUPD listeners raised $3,600 and our founder Kevin Rowe decided to go ahead and donate the full $5,000 that he had agreed to match dollar-to-dollar at the beginning of the fundraiser.

Joan Serviss, executive director of Arizona Housing Coalition, said that the 4,200 will cover bus rides for veterans for the next 6 months so that they can make it to the VA, a job interview, school, and anywhere else Valley Metro goes.

Assisting Troop Transport doesn’t stop here! The Mission to support our veterans will continue with your help. With just $4 you could change someone’s life. Follow this link to join all those who have already had a huge impact:
