Our very own Kevin Rowe is teaming up with Fitz Madrid from 98KUPD and the Maricopa County StandDown to provide local homeless veterans with one-day bus passes to assist with any of their transportation needs.

Many homeless vets have no means of transportation preventing them from obtaining the things they may need. With your help we can provide those who served our country with a day pass to get where they need to be, whether that be to work, to an interview, an appointment, the grocery store, the pharmacy, etc.

Please consider donating to this worthy cause and Kevin Rowe will match each donation dollar-for-dollar up to $5000 aiming towards the 2000 one-day bus pass goal. Your appreciated donations can be made here.

Balloon Festival and Fair Traffic

Approximately 30,000 – 50,000 spectators are expected to attend the 2018 Balloon Festival and Fair. Special event traffic and parking plans will be in effect through Sunday, January 21 at 10:30 PM. Our 25 Days of Giving contest was featured in a CW 6 web exclusive.  In this interview one our winners, Melissa Media, shared her surprise and gratitude for being the winner of a gift her oldest son has wanted since last year.

Car Show & Toy Drive: Free Family Event

Lerner and Rowe joins with other local businesses, car clubs, volunteer groups and organizations to support Family of God Ministry’s Winter Wonderland Car Show & Toy Drive on Saturday, December 16th from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Cesar Chavez High School (3921 W. Baseline Rd., Phoenix, AZ).

The event is FREE to the public. Families are just asked to bring a new unwrapped toy to later be given to an impoverished family this Christmas.

Comedy Lineup Supports ‘Operation Santa Claus’ Charities

In partnership with Four Peaks Brewing Company and Tuft & Needle, Lerner and Rowe presents the 3rd Annual Holmberg’s Happy Ending comedy show at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, AZ on Saturday, December 16th.

$3 from each ticket purchase will go towards supporting ‘Operation Santa Claus’ that benefits St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix Inc, The Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center and Military Assistance Mission.

This year’s comedy show will feature Jay Mohr with Craig Gass and Gary Cannon.

Showtime is 8:00 p.m. with theatre doors opening at 7:00 p.m.  This is an all ages show. Everyone needs a ticket, including infants. Tickets can be purchased online.

Military Assistance Mission Arizona is a non-profit military support organization. The lowest ranks receive the lowest pay and are actually in the poverty category. We do not want a military family struggling while supporting our freedoms. As a country, we need to show our support and help when they need a hand up. Freedom is not free.

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back is a 2017 sponsor of the Ed Doherty Award Luncheon presented by the Grand Canyon State Gridiron Club.  Each week during the 2017 high school football season Arizona high school football players were awarded exceptional performance medallions for outstanding play.

There are 46 total players that make up the final list of nominees eligible for this year’s award. Out of these 46 talented players only one will be named the winner of the 2017 Ed Doherty Award.

What is the Grand Canyon State Gridiron Club?

The Grand Canyon State Gridiron Club (GCSGC ) is a private organization founded to promote, celebrate and support high school football throughout Arizona. The organization presents the Ed Doherty Award and oversees weekly nominations during the season.

Proceeds from GCSGC events help the Teachers Assistance Fund, a 501(c)3 charity to support the efforts of teachers and coaches through equipment purchases and reimbursement of out of pocket expenses for education.

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back joins forces with Right Toyota, Right Honda and the US Marshall Posse as Breakfast Sponsors to treat 750 total kids and law enforcement officers to a hot meal before shopping for Christmas gifts during the 2017 Shop With a Cop, Shop With a Sheepdog charitable activity.

Each child that was pre-selected to participate was chosen through the participating law enforcement department’s PALS programs, School Resource Officers and patrol officers.

Additionally, AZ LEOS Shop With a Cop, Shop With a Sheepdog also assists families of fallen, injured or ill officers and veterans or those families whose parent are deployed for the holidays.

Two Days of Eats & Shopping Treats

On December 9th, 160 kids (that were chosen in advance) will be treated to a special hot holiday breakfast before being escorted by a member of local law enforcement that will assist as their personal shopper on a $100 tax free shopping spree at Walmart.

On December 16th, 180 kids (that were chosen in advance) will be treated to a special holiday breakfast before heading over to Target with their very own law enforcement escort to assist them in shopping and spending their $100 tax free Christmas fund.

AZ LEOS Shop With a Cop, Shop With A Sheepdog is another amazing example of the reach and positive impact that can take place in a local community when businesses, organizations and individuals come together for the benefits of others.

The following are just a few fun facts about AZ LEOS and their Shop With a Cop, Shop With a Sheep Dog Christmas activities:

1. Neighbors Helping Neighbors of Scottsdale helped raise $35,000 to pay for the kids shopping.
2. 22 law Enforcement agencies in AZ and all branches of the military are participating in the various AZ LEOS Shop With a Cop events in December.
3. The average age for Shop With a Cop, Shop With a Sheepdog is 6 – 14.
4.  A Teen Shop with a Cop took place earlier in the month for 40 teens in the Phoenix Valley.
5. There will be Princesses, Star Wars characters from the 501st Legion and Mr. and Mrs. Claus at the December 9th and 16th breakfasts.
6. Santa will be brought to both events in a SWAT tank for the kids to see and they will also lead the procession of the kids with all the squad cars with lights and sirens on from Scottsdale Community College to Walmart and Mesa Community College to Target.
7. This is the 15th year Shop With a Cop organizers Cindy and Jim Hill have coordinated this fun days of giving. They still get goosebumps watching the kids grin from ear to ear as they stroll with their officers and pick out their presents.  It is as meaningful to the officers as it is for the kids.  That’s why each kid and Cop gets a picture to take home with them of the day.  You will see many of them on their desks at work or in their lockers with their family pictures.

Moms with Hope Will Raise Children Who Hope

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back donated $2,500 to help make the Afternoon of Hope on Saturday, December 9th a HUGE success.

What is the Afternoon of Hope?

The Afternoon of Hope is a Christmas event hosted by the Living Word Bible Church. It was created as a means to encourage, empower and inspire single moms living in the Phoenix Valley.

Women that have been invited to attend will be treated to a catered meal, live music, a gift valued at $100 and a mentorship session led by other Valley women. The goal of the event is to fill each of the single moms attending with a renewed feeling of hope, purpose and a higher sense of their value and worth as a mother and within our community.
