West Coast Challenge - Youth Football

As football, food and teamwork go hand-in-hand, sports fans are invited to bring non-perishable food items with them to AZ Kickoff Classic’s West Coast Youth Football Challenge and Food Drive on Sunday, September 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Tucson High to enjoy a thrilling afternoon of youth football and to help raise 10,000 lbs. of food for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.With an estimated 6,000 people expected to pack the bleachers to watch the Tucson Southwest Rams go head-to-head against the Snoop Dogg Diamond Valley Steelers, the goal of gathering 10k pounds of food to help the feed the hungry is within reach.

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back will be part of a $2,000 check donation that will be used to buy 8,000 meals to feed the hungry throughout Southern Arizona.

Lerner and Rowe Injury Attorneys takes up the good fight by supporting Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada’s annual Superhero 5K. This year, the Foundation seeks to raise $300,000 to put towards research and other supportive services in the battle against childhood cancer.

Children of all ages can take a spin on one of the many fast turning carnival rides, roller coaster and fair favorite, Ferris wheel. And, what carnival wouldn’t be complete without the traditional carnival games, food and live entertainment.

Times: Carnival and vendor hours are Thursday 5:00 p.m. – midnight; Friday 11:00 a.m. – midnight; Saturday 11:00 a.m. – midnight and Sunday 11:00 am – 5:00 p.m.

Rodeo

The heart of Pahrump’s annual Western rodeo is wrapped up in thrilling bull rides, team roping and the crowd pleasing rodeo clowns. For two nights only, rodeo fans have the chance to watch the age old battle of wills between seasoned cowboys and livestock.

Times: Gates open at 6:30 p.m.; rodeo starts at 7:00 p.m.

Over 10,000 kids are expected to attend AYF (American Youth Football and Cheer) association’s AZ Kickoff Classic at Rillito Downs (502 N 1st Ave., Tucson).Kids from Arizona, Nevada, California and Texas who take part in the three day sporting event will get a chance to prepare for the upcoming football season – all while having fun making new friends, being taught valuable life skills and the importance of striving for academic excellence.
