On Saturday, October 22, our Lerner and Rowe Gives Back team joined volunteers from the Fiesta Bowl Charities, BHHS Legacy Foundation, and KABOOM! to transform empty lots into a brand-new, state-of-the-art playground and sport court for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River’s Fort Mojave Clubhouse. 

These new facilities make exciting additions to the new clubhouse that was also recently built, as well as the 70,000+ square foot grass field that was transported to the site last spring after serving as the 2021 Guaranteed Rate Bowl field in downtown Phoenix. 

As a sponsor of the Fiesta Bowl Charities, we are thrilled to see how much can be achieved in one day when a community gets together to give back and do more for more than 800 local youth. We genuinely love being part of KABOOM! Playground builds and to see our sponsorship dollars in action!

Over $317,000 Raised in 2 years

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, individuals and team members, our 2nd Annual Las Vegas Charity Golf Classic was able to raise over $173,725. Add that to the 2021 year’s total and were excited to calculate a grand total of over $317,000! 

100% of these proceeds will be given directly to Nevada charitable groups and organizations.

Captured Highlights from 2nd Annual Las Vegas Charity Golf Classic

In support of the full-service women’s shelter Janice’s Women’s Center (JWC), our Gives Back team has contributed $3,500 towards its inaugural A Tour of Paris Gala. Our donation and other funds raised will be added to the center’s $8-million build fund to create a safe community of 52 tiny homes for children and battered women, as well as providing entrepreneurship programs to show each woman how they can sustain their own wealth and invest in themselves.

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back is a fifth-year sponsor of annual LovePup Family Fests in Tucson and Phoenix. Admission is free for both events with the donation of dog food, treats, toys, and other wishlist items (see below).

As such, we were thrilled to donate $5,000 towards its new Raise the Rooftop fundraiser to be held on Saturday, October 29 from 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. on the top level of the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall parking structure.

In addition to highlighting BGCS positive impact on local youth and teens, this outdoor 21 or older benefit event will feature:

At Lerner and Rowe, we love supporting fundraisers that fight to reduce pet homelessness and animal suffering. Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ (Nevada SPCA) 2nd Annual Neon Dog Walk on Saturday, November 5th from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Park’s Dunes Trail Loop is such an event.

Funds raised through sponsorships, registration fees, and individual or team donations will be used to provide medical care for sick and injured animals at this no-kill shelter, as well as support Nevada SPCA’s overall mission to look after the welfare of domestic animals. 

Highlights of the 2nd Annual Neon Dog Walk in Las Vegas 

This family-friendly fun walk/run is open to participants and their dogs. Just make sure that you wear glow-in-the-dark accessories to light the trail.

Additionally, for the safety of the attendees, pets must:

• Remain leashed
• Be friendly and well-behaved
• Be current on all vaccinations

For the eleventh year in a row, Lerner and Rowe Gives Back is an active supporter of the “Paul’s Pay it Forward Car Wash” hosted by Arizona’s Family Meteorologist Paul Horton. 

For 2022, our team washed cars for charity on October 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Kevin Rowe also presented a check for $10,000 towards this annual fundraiser benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona (BBBSAZ). 

How to Participate in the 15th Annual Paul’s Pay it Forward Car Wash 

From October 17th through 21st, you’ll have four ways to participate and show your support of the Paul’s Pay it Forward Car Wash.

1. Get a car wash at the Desert Ridge Marketplace (near Kohl’s) between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. daily.
2. Text WASH to 26989 to donate from your mobile phone.
3. Select “Paul’s Car Wash” at any Super Star Car Wash Location.
4. Volunteer to mentor one of the 200 children on the BBBSAZ waiting list.

Join the Fight to Combat Hunger in Maricopa County

Lerner and Rowe Gives Back has once again teamed up with ALT AZ 93.3 and the Valley of the Sun United Way to help end hunger in Maricopa County. Our team was pleased to donate $5,500 to help cover the costs for 625 pantry packs.

As before, the goal of the October 2022 United Way Pantry Pack Program is to provide 1,500 meals to help ensure that local students and their families have enough food staples to get them through the month.

Participating schools are located in South and Southwest Phoenix, Maryvale and Guadalupe and have Free and Reduced Lunch eligibility.

What’s Inside Each Pantry Pack?

Pantry Packs are filled with nutritional “shelf-stable pantry items” that include: 

• Oatmeal 
• Fruit cups 
• Granola bars
• Macaroni and cheese 
• Canned chicken
• Peanut butter crackers 

You Can Join the Fight Against Hunger!

According to the Valley of the Sun United Way, one in five children live in food insecure homes. Further, 82,000 families in Maricopa County that face chronic food insecurities.

In addition to our $5,000 sponsorship, members of our Mesa team were able to attend and enjoy a charitable evening full of culture and farm fresh cuisine in support of A Stepping Stone Foundation’s two-generation education and literacy program. This program provides tuition-free comprehensive education programs for at-risk children and their parents including:

• Home visits by program teachers
• Parenting workshops
• College scholarships for former program participants
• Internships for former program participants

Further, our team had the opportunity to hear first-hand powerful stories of how the lives of families in need have been transformed through A Stepping Stone Foundation’s program.
